Find the secret to Internet Marketing
Finding the secret to internet marketing is not a very easy thing to do, it requires a lot of hard work and patience. I myself have studied marketing on the internet for more than 8 years and still feel like a rookie.
From website development to search engine optimization your marketing tactics can become very time consuming and complex. However, I am going to attempt to break down the basics to get you moving in the right direction.
Depending on what you are trying to market there are different approaches, for example: trying to market your physical business is different from marketing your band; and marketing your ad supported or affiliate supported site is different than marketing a web based business.
Below are the basics every business needs to focus on for internet marketing.
The Beginning:
- Developing your concept. (Band Name, Business Niche, Goals, or Needs)
The Website:
- Keyword Research (By researching keywords you are able to determine which words you business needs to target to get the traffic and exposure you need. It also helps you establish which tactics you need focus on to market your business.)
- Designing your site. (And we are not talking about making it look pretty, though that step is going to come up soon. We are talking about designing your sites link structure, theme pyramid, and website funnel.)
- Create your Image. (Now it’s time to hire that graphic designer you always wanted.)
- Build your site. (If you are not familiar with programming websites, I truly suggest hiring a professional with proficient SEO
knowledge. Even a basic WordPress site can cause you a lot of trouble if you don’t know what your doing. Dynamic websites are now considered a need, not a want!)
- Learn your site. (If you don’t know your site back and forth you will miss out on a lot of the hidden gems.)
- Develop relevant and keyword targeted content. (By doing this you are not only building a reputable site, but you are adding more doors in to your site.)
Promoting your Business:
- Add promotion tools to your site. (SMS Text updating, Newsletter features, Contact Forms, and more.)
- Use Analytics and Webmaster tools. (This helps you track your progress and your promotional campaigns.)
- Submit your site. (Directories, Blog Networks and Search Engines)
- Find your clientele. (Each niche has a different pattern to it’s users. If you picked the niche, I hope you know it cause if you don’t finding this pattern is difficult thing.)
- Target your niche. (If your targets use social networks or media, join the club and get to talking. If your potential clients favor forums or chat rooms then you have to follow suit.)
- Develop relationships. (Finding competing websites that will befriend you and help you out can be difficult, it’s easier to target sites that are related yet not a competitor they are usually more that willing to give advise, help and possibly that elusive link.)
- SPREAD THE WORD. (Believe it or not by utilizing your friends and family you can gain a substantial boost in your promotional needs. Think of the power of multiplication: you tell ten, each of those tell ten, and so forth. Though you usually lose potency after the second reference, some times you find a gem that hidden viral spread.)
